Bring More Romance To Your Marriage With Food - Food - Recipes

As you read this content you will find information on foods that have been known to increase the romance quotia in your marriage. These foods known to have aphrodisiac properties revealed are simple foods that can be bought at your local supermarket, are not costly are easy to prepare, and aren't going to blow your diet. This information is meant to be a fun, exciting method to spice up your romantic life. You should try it and see if it works for you!

What are Aphrodisiac Foods?
Aphrodisiac foods are foods that are determined to have chemical make-ups that improve sexual prowess, increase fertility, as well as increase sexual excitement.
These foods can do this by two separate means;
1. They spark the senses of sight, touch, smell, or sound thus giving a pleasant sensation. Or...
2. They stimulate internally by enhancing blood flow, effect relaxation (as a glass of wine might do), and increasing libido (sex drive).
Some of the History Associated With Aphrodisiac Foods
Some of the earliest writings on the properties of foods was recorded during the 1st century A.D. by the Greeks. Many of the early theories that attributed particular effects to a particular food were deduced on the food's shape. Certain foods that looked like a phallic symbol were said to enhance male sexuality. At the same time fruits featuring large numbers of seeds were thought to enhance female libido.
Through the ages the aphrodisiac qualities of foods have been a popular and fascinating topic. A lot of the knowledge we have got is folklore that has been collected over time. Certain ethnicities strongly believe in consuming certain foods before making love (as in honeymoon rituals).
Through analyzing the minerals and vitamins existing within a food, we are able to suggest ways the item may perhaps impact the body. Some vitamins may improve blood circulation or stamina. Other foods might allow you to feel relaxed and romantic (for example chocolate). The body's chemistry is impacted by what we eat. Keep in mind the old proverb, "You are what you eat".
Personally, I presume that there inherently must be truth to knowledge that arises from folklore. I cannot believe the information would be passed down if there wasn't some truth to it. Consequently, best case scenario you will have an elevated experience. Worst case scenario you get to check out a brand new recipe. Not all bad!
Some of the ancient foods contained within the list of aphrodisiacs were anise, basil, carrot, salvia, pistachio nuts, arugula, sage, fennel, and asparagus. Foods to stay away from were dill, lentil, lettuce, and watercress. The second group of foods was believed to lessen the desire for sex.
So let's use two of the foods with aphrodisiac properties from the list above and combine them to make a meal
Asparagus. There are those who claim that individuals that consume asparagus have many lovers. Others believe it is really merely the phallic resemblance of the asparagus spears that imply sexuality. One thing is certain, asparagus is a storehouse of vitamin E, which often can aid in boosting sexual performance and stamina. The French lovers of days gone by would consume three courses of asparagus on the eve of their wedding. Asparagus is also packed with potassium, phosphorus, and calcium besides vitamin E. A good prescription for higher hormone production.
Arugula. Linked to a not so well known Roman god of fertility, arugula was venerated among the ancient Romans and Egyptians. This member of the lettuce family is known for a peppery taste and contains large amount of vitamins An and C and numerous minerals (including potassium) which are necessary for putting your body in its sexual prime.
Asparagus and Arugula Salad
4 cups baby arugula leaves
8 asparagus spears
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
Preheat oven to 400? F. Snap or take off the tough
ends of the asparagus and mix with about 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil on a baking sheet you have lined with foil. Put the spears in a single layer and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast until tender crisp and slightly charred, about 5-10 minutes depending on size of the asparagus spears.
During the time the asparagus is roasting, combine the rest of the olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper and whisk to combine. To serve, mix the arugula with the dressing and divide evenly between two plates. Top with asparagus spears, sprinkle cheese on top, and serve immediately.
Recipe romantically serves 2
To get the most effective benefits as a result of this meal;
1. Put the kids to bed early or dispatch them to grandma's
2. Put on something that makes you feel sexy
3. Play romantic music
4. Light vanilla candles (the aroma of vanilla heightens sexual urges)
5. And be playful!
Bear in mind; If you would like more kisses, give more kisses. If you would like more hugs, provide more hugs. If you would like someone to pay more attention to you, pay more attention to them.
Bon Appetit!

This was an awesome dessert! The tartness of the cranberry curd, coupled with the sweet walnut shortbread crust are in perfect harmony. This isn't a stand mixer recipe per se, but it was so good I just had to share it with you! The recipe does require a food processor though, to thoroughly blend the ingredients for the crust.
